Optional Component (Requires VTS license)
VTS Internet Connectivity allows authorized users to remotely monitor & control their VTS applications over the Internet (or Intranet) via thin-clients from Windows computers without VTS installed. This is useful as a way to reach your system when physical access is impossible or as a flexible way to distribute your applications across internal computers.
Mobile Internet Client (MIC)
New in version 10.1, the MIC is a tactile interface to your application that allows you to securely view and acknowledge alarms, check equipment status, plot trends and even issue control commands with just a touch or pinch.
VTS Internet Connectivity is made up of two parts:
- The VTS Internet Server is a true Internet server that does not require 3rd party products such as Apache™ or Microsoft IIS™.
- The VTS Internet Client is a thin client that remotely displays pages exactly as they appear on standard thick client workstations. No additional display configuration is required.
Two ways to open the client
- Type a special URL into Internet Explorer* or click on the link in an email. (remote use)
- Open a small program added to the client computer’s desk top. (internal use)
Licensing & Integration
- This integrated VTS component is unlocked with a serial number.
- Configuration takes only seconds.
- One client is included with the purchase of this license.
- Additional concurrent client licenses can be purchased as needed.
Redundancy & Performance
- Set Internet clients to automatically failover from the primary to a backup server.
- Configure any number of redundant backup servers.
- Enhance performance by automatically distributing client connections across multiple servers.
* Requires Microsoft Internet Explorer™ version 7 higher. The Active X plug-ins only work in the 32-bit (default) version of Internet Explorer 9.
