Since internet access is often from a remote location, it is imperative you be able to control this access and communicate with remote users to inform them of system disruptions. To meet this need, VTS includes an Internet Client Monitoring utility.
The VTS Client Monitor allows you to:
- View Internet Client connections.
- Send a message to individual Internet Client users.
- Broadcast a message to all connected Internet Client users.
- Force disconnection of any client.
Forcible disconnections allow administrators to quickly stop malicious activity or free up unused concurrent connections.
To alleviate the later problem, you can also set an appropriate automatic logoff time for inactive connections.
