The New VTS Application Manager (VAM)

Andrew walks you through the sharp and intuitive new VTS Application Manager.

Version Control & Configuration Management

Andrew brings you quickly up to speed on two of version 10's most powerful new features.

Importing and Exporting Application Files

Andrew explains the new, more secure method of importing and exporting changes made to user editable files outside of VTS. The new VTS Application Configuration Dialog can automatically detect file changes and allow authorized users the option to import them into the working application without restarting.

File Manifest and Tag Import/Export

Andrew starts off by briefly describing how to use the VTS File manifest to clean up applications by deselecting unnecessary files so that they will not be included in backup or distribution changesets. He goes on to discuss the fast new tag database format developed for VTS 10. Rather than directly editing tags as in past versions, Andrew shows you how to export tags to MS Access, Excel or ODBC formats. Once edited, tags can be imported back into VTS without needing to restart the application.

Backup, distribute or update applications with Changeset files

Learn how to use a single VTS Changeset file to easily backup, distribute or update your version 10 applications.

Enhanced VTS Historian

Learn about the incredibly fast new VTS Historian format that comes with VTS 10. He also explains that you can configure multiple synced historians in a variety of formats including Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, and SQLite.

Editing Application Properties

Andrew shows how to edit properties within VTS using the new VTS Configuration Manager. This replaces the old method of editing variables within the config.ini file.

Enhanced VTS Security

Andrew shows off the new security features available with version 10.
