Once you have made a RAS connection between your client and server (see Performing Remote Updates to a VTScada Application), follow the instructions below to obtain a copy of the application from the server so that it may be modified locally.
1. Ensure that the VTScada application is running on the server.
2. Using the remote client, RAS in to the VTS server.
3. Run VTS on the client. The VAM will open.
4. Click the Add New button. The Add New Application dialog will open.
5. Select the Get From Server radio button.
6. Click the OK button. The Choose Server dialog will open.
7. Select the name of the remote VTS server from the Machine Name drop-down list.
8. Click the OK button. The Find Servers dialog will open and will display the name of the selected server and the status of the applications found on that server.
9. Click the Inquire button. The Applications Available On X (where X is the name of the server) will open and display the name and type of applications that are running on the server.
10. Select the application you wish to retrieve.
11. Click the Acquire button. The Applications Available On X (where X is the name of the server) dialog will close, and a core set of applications files will be transferred to this client's hard drive. You will be returned to the VAM where the application is displayed in the Available Applications list.
12. Ensure that the application is selected in the VAM's Available Applications list.
13. Click the Run button. The application will run, and the startup synchronization process will commence (where the server transfers the latest version of the application's data and resources to this client).
Once the startup synchronization process is complete, the application will open.
