Accessing a VTS/IS Using a VIC

Once a VTS/IS has been configured (see Configuring a VTS Internet Server), clients can connect to it and download the ActiveX component. In order to begin viewing data from the VTS/IS, you must first run Microsoft Internet Explorer on the VIC. Once Microsoft Internet Explorer is running on the VIC, a series of simple commands can be issued to access the required data.

For your convenience, a quick start guide to accessing a standard application running on a VTS/IS is provided in the section that follows. More detailed instructions on accessing standard and script applications can be found in subsequent sections (see Syntax of VIC Requests and onwards).
