The Add Account dialog (shown below) opens when a user clicks the Add button of the Accounts dialog. If automatic password expiration has not been set, the Password Options message will read “Password never expires”. Regardless of this setting, you can force the user to change their password on the next login by checking the box, “Force reset of password at next logon”.

To configure a new user account:
1. Click the Add button on the Accounts dialog. The Add Account dialog opens as shown above.
2. Enter a username for the new user, using a standard username naming convention (e.g. First initial and last name (JSmith), or last name underscore first name (Smith_James).
If you are creating user groups, the name should be a combination of group name, group delimiter, and user name. See: Group Configuration Example.
3. Enter a password for the new user.
You might wish to make this password a temporary, generic password and have the user customize it after the first time he/she logs on (e.g. Use "pass" as the password and have the user enter a more secure and private password once they've logged on for the first time). Remember, you must grant users the Account Modify privilege to allow users to change their own password.
4. [Optional] Force the user to change their password on their next (i.e. first) logon. (See: Force Users to Change Their Password.)
5. Select privileges by checking the associated checkboxes in the My Privileges list.
Default system privileges appear at the top of the list, while user-defined application privileges appear at the bottom of the list. (For a complete list of system privileges, see System Privileges.) If you wish to add all available privileges (both system privileges and application privileges) to this account, click the Check All button.
6. Decide whether to use the default log off time, or set a custom time for this user.
a) If using the default time, leave the option selected
b) If setting a custom time, click on the checkbox, then set a time in minutes. The user will be logged off after this length of time if they leave the workstation idle.
7. Click the OK button.
The new user account will appear in the accounts list in the Accounts dialog.
