The instructions that follow will refer to your “selected Bitmaps directory”. This may be located in the VTS layer, the OEM layer or the Application layer, depending on your intentions for the graphics. Use the following as a guide:
• Adding Custom Graphics to VTS
Selected Bitmaps directory location: C:\VTS\VTS\Bitmaps
Advantage: The graphics will be available to all applications.
Disadvantage: The files may be lost during an upgrade to a newer version of VTS. You should keep a backup copy to ensure that the files can be recovered.
• Adding Custom Graphics to an OEM layer
Selected Bitmaps directory location: C:\VTS\YourOEMLayerDirectory\Bitmaps
Advantages: The graphics will be available to any application based on this layer.
The graphics will not be over-written when VTS is updated.
Disadvantage: You might not want the graphics to be available to more than one application.
• Adding Custom Graphics to an Application layer
Selected Bitmaps directory location: C:\VTS\YourApplicationDirectory\Bitmaps
Advantages: The graphics will be available to this application only.
The graphics will not be over-written when VTS is updated.
Disadvantage: The graphics will be available to this application only.
Custom graphic images may be added to either existing graphic groups, or you may create custom groups. Both techniques are covered in the instructions provided in the following two topics:
