To insert an image onto a page, select the Image button from the configuration toolbox:

VTS can display vector-based and bitmap images with the following extensions:
• *.BMP
• *.PNG
• *.GIF
• *.CUT
• *.WMF
• *.EMF
• *.JPG.
Note: Images placed on the pages of your application using the Image button are not associated with tags. In order to place a visual representation of the value of a tag on a page, you must employ the Tag Browser's "Draw" button. See: Tag Drawing Methods.
Step 1: Set a location for the placeholder image.
You will be prompted to select a position on the page for the lower right corner of a placeholder image. Selecting the image and its size will be done in a later step. The placeholder image will look like so:

Step 2: Select the bitmap image to insert
After completing step 1, the VTS Graphic Editor will open as shown in the following image:

Complete instructions for using the dialog shown above can be found in the topic: VTS Graphic Editor: Options Unique to Images
To choose an image, click the "Select Bitmap" button. The "Select Bitmap" dialog opens, similar to the example displayed here:

The "Select Image" dialog is composed of groups or categories to help you locate the images you need. To display images belonging to a specific group, click on the associated button. The corresponding group of images will be displayed in its own dialog, from which you may choose any that one that fits your design.
You may expand the range of choices by adding your own images. Refer to the topic, Adding Custom Graphics to VTS for instructions.
Step 3: Choose a Color for the Status Display Area
Many images feature color indicator areas:

Color indicator areas are useful when combined with the Image Change tag drawing method (see Image Change Drawing Method) or when the bitmap itself is used as a tag drawing method. In both cases, color indicator will change color with the tag to indicate equipment status.
For the indicator to change color in response to an overlying image change drawing method, it must be Orange 241 in color. You can click the Color button on the Bitmap Editor dialog, to choose this color from the Select Color dialog.
Only Orange 241 responds to image change drawing methods.
Note: a change to the hue of the overall bitmap also affects the color indicator area, making it impossible to achieve Orange 241 as the final color.
