The Add New button also gives you the choice of finding existing applications and adding them to the VAM. Any type of application except a remote running on another server can be added this way.
To add an existing application to the VAM, follow the steps below. If you are adding a layered application, you must go through these steps twice: first for the custom OEM layer and then for the layered application.
1. Ensure that the application directory is copied to the VTS installation directory (for example, "C:\VTS\ExistingApplicationDirectory").
2. Run VTS.
3. Click the VAM's Add New button. The Add New Application dialog opens.

4. Select the Find Existing radio button.
5. Click the OK button. The Found Applications dialog opens.

6. Enter the name of the application directory containing your application resources in the Path field.
Note: To locate the appropriate application directory, you may enter its full name (e.g. "MyApplication"), you can enter the first few characters of the application directory's name, followed by the asterisk wildcard character (e.g. "My*"), or you may use the asterisk wildcard character on its own to locate all existing application directories within the VTS product directory (e.g. "*"). You may also use the browse button to find the application directory.
7. Press the Enter key.
VTS searches for application directories whose title matches the characters entered in the Path field, and displays the names of these applications in the list. (If you so choose, you can select the Show Path checkbox to view the path to each of the located applications.)

If VTS does not find any applications in the path you've specified, the Found Applications dialog's list of applications and the OK button will be disabled. You must then re-enter the path to be searched.
8. Select the application you wish to add to the VAM's Available Applications list.
Note: If you are adding a layered application, you must select the custom OEM application first, then repeat these steps for the layered application.
9. Click the OK button.
The Found Applications dialog closes and the application is added to the VAM's Available Applications list.
All applications that were created using older versions of VTS and that are being upgraded to a newer version will have to be compiled before their pages can be edited. Instructions on compiling applications can be found in Compiling an Application.
