Alarm Dialer System Configuration
The Alarm Dialer system requires that the following components be configured:
• Two or more roster tags: the first of which must have no operator contact records configured (so that the Alarm Dialer system may be disabled when not in use), and the subsequent roster tags which can have up to 8 operator contact records configured. Instructions appear in Creating a Roster Tag.
• The Call-out List page must be configured with the available roster tags drawn as buttons. The depressed button represents the group of operators who will be contacted when unacknowledged alarms occur. Instructions appear in Drawing a Roster Tag on the Call-out List Page.
• A modem tag for a voice modem that has been configured with a blank Area property. Instructions appear in Creating a Modem Tag with a Blank Area.
• User accounts that have been granted at least the Alarm Acknowledge privilege for each operator who is to be on call. Instructions appear in Creating a New User Account for an Alarm Dialer System Operator.
• Alarm Dialer system options (such as the amount of time an alarm must be unacknowledged before designated operators are notified by the Alarm Dialer system and the priority of alarms that will be called out). Instructions appear in Setting Conditions Under Which Operators Will Be Contacted By The Alarm Dialer System.
• The roster you wish to be active must be enabled. Instructions appear in Activating a Roster.
Note: You must use realm area filtering in your application’s Config.ini file if you wish to restrict some or all users from viewing and/or responding to alarms based on their Area property. Information on setting up realm area filtering can be found in the VTS Programmer’s Guide in "Realm Area Filtering" and in "Config.ini [REALMAREAS] Sections: Realm Area Filtering ".
