The VTS alarm system does much more than just notify operators when a pump has stopped running, or when a well level is high. The system has been configured to provide you with a historical view of everything that has occurred in the system, including when an operator has logged on or off, when a new alarm tag has been created, or when an operator has performed a control action, such as turning equipment off or on.
VTS can also include an optional Alarm Dialer system that can be configured to contact designated remote operators by phone, pager, and/or e-mail in the event that alarms have gone unacknowledged for a user-defined period of time.
This chapter provides the information you need in order to:
• Navigate through the Alarm Page, filtering the display and acknowledging alarms.
• Create, configure, enable or disable alarms.
• Build your own customized alarm page.
• Understand what data is logged by the alarm system and create reports on that data.
• Configure spoken alarms.
• Configure and use the Alarm Dialer system.
