Application Already Exists: Adding an Application with a Duplicate Path

If you attempt to add a new application whose path is exactly the same as the path of an existing application, VTS will notify you with the following dialog.

 

There are 3 possible choices to be made, as indicated in the table below.

•    Use Existing   This will cause VTS to rename the existing application according to the new name you've configured in the New Application Properties dialog, but will use the remaining properties and resources configured for the existing application (i.e. VTS will use the existing application's files, pages, and tags).

•    Replace   This will cause VTS to replace the existing application with the newly configured application. All of the existing application's data, including files, pages, and tags will be overwritten by the new application. As with all new applications, the existing application will now consist of one application page, and no data.

•    Cancel   This will cancel the operation. A new application will not be created, and the existing application will remain untouched.
