Automatically Log Users Off When the Application Is Idle

You can use the Administrative Settings dialog to automatically log users off when the application has been left idle for a user-defined period of time. This is done using either the "Minutes of Inactivity" spin box in the Administrative Settings dialog, or within the Add Account or Modify Account dialogs.

The value in the Administrative Settings dialog will be the default idle time for all users unless an alternate time is set in a user’s personal account.

By default, the "Minutes of Inactivity" spin box is set to 15 minutes. This time can be set from 0 to 720 minutes (12 hours).

If the user performs no operations to the application, and the application is left idle (no control actions, no page changes, etc.) the user is automatically logged off the application on the applicable workstation, and must log on again to resume operations.

Note: The SecurityManager.ini configuration file enables you to manually set the number of minutes before the user is logged off, and to modify the minimum and maximum settings for the "Minutes of Inactivity" spin box. Please refer to the "AutoLogoff", "AutoLogoffMin", and "AutoLogoffMax" variables in "VTS Programmer's Guide: SecurityManager.ini [SECURITYMANAGER-Admin] Section Variables".
