You can choose to configure your new applications to auto-start by selecting the AutoStart Application checkbox that appears to the right of the Type drop-down list in the New Application Properties dialog.
Configuring applications to auto-start is useful during the application design process as the application will run as soon as the VAM loads, saving you from having to select the application and run it. It is equally helpful for those operators who have had little exposure to computers or to VTS, as it eliminates the need to use the VAM.
Auto-starting the VTS program is also possible, as is hiding the VAM. These features further simplify the use of VTS for operators and prevent the inadvertent closure of VTS applications or the VTS program. Auto-starting VTS and hiding the VAM is explained in Controlling Close of VTS Applications and the VTS Program.
