Bitmaps Subdirectory (C:\VTS\VTS\Bitmaps\)

The Bitmaps directory within the VTS layer directory is used to store all of the equipment graphics included with VTS. These bitmaps are displayed in the Select Bitmap dialog that is accessed using the Bitmap tool in the configuration toolbox (or through the Image Change drawing method for tags).

The graphics are organized into groups, such as backgrounds, pumps, tanks, etc. The graphic files that make up each group are stored in separate subdirectories. In addition to these graphic group subdirectories, the Bitmaps directory contains graphic files that are used to symbolize each group in the Select Bitmap dialog box. There is one bitmap to represent each group of graphics. Each group can have its own subgroups. You can organize your bitmaps using as many groups and subgroups as you need.

Note: Any bitmaps added to the VTS layer's Bitmaps directory are accessible by all new standard applications. You will probably wish to enhance your applications by adding custom equipment graphics. Information on adding bitmaps to VTS can be found in the topic Adding Custom Graphics to VTS.
