Changing the Time Duration Displayed on the Graph

You can adjust the Historical Data Viewer’s graph to display longer or shorter time duration with any of three tools:

Click the duration drop-down list.

A list of time durations will be displayed, ranging from 1 second to 5 years.  Select any time range that covers the interval you want to see.  If the HDV is currently displaying live data, it will continue to do so after you select a different time range.  Each selected time range will always end with the current time.

If the HDV is displaying historical data, each new time range you select will also display historical data. (The arrows to the right of the time scroll bar will show a red border, indicating that the display does not include live data.)

You can also select a specific date upon which to view logged data using the Select Start Date button in the tool bar on the Historical Data Viewer page. Please refer to Selecting a Date for instructions.

Use the magnification buttons to view a longer or shorter time period, focused on a point of interest.

These buttons apply to pens plotting either digital or analog values. They change the time frame displayed on the graph in the same way that the duration drop down list does, except that with each click of a Zoom-In or Zoom-Out button, the resulting time frame will be focused on the date and time where you clicked.  The result is always to display historical data.

Each click on the graph after the Zoom In X-Axis button has been selected will change the display to the next smaller time duration. Conversely, each click on the graph after the Zoom Out X-Axis button has been selected will change the display to the next larger time duration.  Simply clicking on either button does not change the display.  You must also click on the graph in order to select the point in time that will be focused on in the updated display.
