Configuring a VTS Internet Server

In order to enable a VTS/IS to allow access to its applications, there are a number of basic configuration operations that must be performed:

If SSL connections between the VTS/IS and VICs are to be used, an SSL certificate must be obtained and installed on the VTS/IS. For networks that allow general internet access to the server computer, SSL is highly recommended.

Valid user accounts must be established in each standard VTS application for those users wishing to access them remotely via a VIC. These user accounts must have the "Internet Client Access" privilege granted to them.

One or more "realms" must be established on the VTS/IS that are comprised of applications to which you wish users to have access. (VTS applications that are not assigned to a realm will not be remotely accessible); and

One or more VTS Internet Servers must be configured with appropriate port settings and redundant operation parameters.

[Optional] You might wish to add a Realm Display Setup tag to an application to configure the level of control over the display parameters that is to be granted to VIC users.
