Controlling the Closure of VTS and VTS Applications

It is possible that some of the operators using your application will have had little or no experience with computers or with VTS. If the VTS application or the VTS program is stopped (either by an operator or due to a power failure), some operators may be unable to restart the application due to unfamiliarity with VTS or with computers in general.

In other instances, you or your clients might wish the workstations running the VTS software to be dedicated to that purpose alone.

Under such circumstances, you may wish to consider some or all of the following options:

Set the application to open in full screen mode (that is with no Windows title bar, close button, minimize or maximize buttons)

Deny the Application Close system privilege to operators (so that operators cannot close the Display Manager using the Windows close button if the application is not in full screen mode)

Configure the VTS application to auto-start

Configure the VTS program to auto-start

Configure the VTS Application Manager to be hidden

Instructions on each of these operations are provided in the following sections.
