Converting Applications between Local and Remote

You can convert a local application into a remote application, or a remote application into a local application by editing the application's Sync.WIF and Config.INI files.

The Sync.WIF file is created in your application directory when you initially create a new remote application, and is not present for local applications. Sync.WIF contains a reference to the primary configuration server (see Primary Configuration Server) and backup servers (see Backup Servers) for a remote application.

The Config.INI file is created for all applications, whether they are local or remote. For remote applications, Config.INI contains a reference to the primary service server (see: Primary Service Servers) and backup service servers (see: Backup Service Servers).

Instructions for converting a local application to a remote application and a remote application to a local application are provided in the following sections.
