Before starting: This example assumes that you have a DM (user draw method) such as the one created in the first example of this series. All new DMs, created using the Group command, will initially be added to the User Draw Methods library. In this example, you will see how to create your own library and move a drawing method to it.
Caution: You may wish to move a DM from the User Draw Methods library to your new library. If any instances of that DM have been added to any page, then DO NOT PROCEED!
The only way to move a DM from one library to another is to cut and paste. However, the CUT operation deletes the DM as it is added to the clipboard. Deleting a DM from a library also deletes every instance of it that has been drawn on every page. Thus, it is not safe to cut and paste DMs from one library to another after the first instance has been drawn.
1. Click on the Configure button to open the configuration toolbox.
2. Click on the Libraries button in the toolbox to open the Libraries dialog.
3. Right-click on Drawing Tools to open its context menu
4. Click on New (the only item in the context menu)
5. Provide a name for the new library in the dialog that appears. (e.g. "Custom Meters")
6. Press Enter to set the new name
7. Click on OK to close the dialog box.
The new library should now be added to the list.
