Roster tags are specialized tags that can contain up to 8 contact records for operators who are to be contacted by the VTScada Alarm Dialer system when alarms have gone unacknowledged. A roster tag may consist of multiple records for a single operator so that that operator will be contacted by voice, pager, and e-mail in sequence, or you may configure one record for each operator, according to your needs. You may have as many roster tags in your system as you require.
The instructions below will help to guide you through the configuration of a roster tag.
1. Open the Tag Browser.
2. Select Roster from the Types drop-down list.
The Tag Browser will display any roster tags that have been configured for your application.
By default, one roster tag is included with every VTScada application. This tag is named Default Call-out Off, contains no operator records, and is intended to disable the Alarm Dialer system when it is not in use. This tag must not be modified or deleted.
3. Click the New button.
4. Enter a name for this roster tag in the Name field
(E.g. Weekend, Evenings, or Holidays).
5. Enter an appropriate area for the roster tag in the Area field
Note: refer to Hierarchy Rules for Triggered Alarms and the Alarm Dialer and Creating Operator Groups for the Alarm Dialer System for information on the Area property and the Alarm Dialer system. The area field is very important to rosters.
6. Enter an appropriate description for this roster tag in the Description field.
7. Click the 1-2 tab.
The fields of the 1-2 tab will be displayed.

8. Enter an operator's name in the Person 1 field.
This will be the first operator on this roster to be contacted in the event that an alarm has gone unacknowledged, and this is the active roster.
9. Select the Contact Mode radio button that reflects the contact mode you wish to use for this operator.
10. Enter a phone number (Voice), pager number (Pager), or e-mail address (E-Mail) in the Phone Number/E-Mail Address field.
11. If the selected contact method for this operator is Pager, enter the pager's PIN number in the PIN Number field.
12. Select the corresponding Keep Polling checkbox if the selected Contact Mode is Pager or E-Mail and you wish the system to continue to contact the next operator record even if this pager or e-mail transmission was successful.
13. Repeat for Person 2 etc. until you have added all the designated operators you require for this roster.
You do not need to fill the roster tag by configuring all 8 records.
14. Click the OK button. The new roster tag will now appear in your Tag Browser.
