Dialing In to the Alarm Dialer

If the modem tag is configured with a ring count greater than 0, operators can dial in to hear any active alarms, just as if the alarm dialer had called them.  They must first identify themselves by entering their ID number to gain access to the system.

In addition to the standard spoken alarms, a more advanced menu that includes station status information and station control options is available to operators who call in. This menu will be available on any application that includes polling drivers configured with unique polling sequence numbers.

 

The spoken menu system works as follows:

Dials in

“This is the VTScada System. Please enter your ID number followed by the pound key”

Enters Id. Presses #.

“Hello <operator name>. <states time>.

Select 1 for alarms, 2 for station status, 3 for control, 4 to exit.”

Presses 2

“Station status selected. Please enter the station number followed by the pound key.”

Enters station id

“Station <station number>. <tag description>”

<states each tag descriptions in that station followed by its current value. The configured ON or OFF text will be spoken to describe the state of digital status tags.*  “Alarm” will announce an alarm state.>

Presses 3

“Control selected. Please enter the station ID number followed by the pound key.”

Enters station id

<Lists all the digital controls on the station by description, providing a number for each that the operator can press in order to select that one.>

“To repeat, press pound. To cancel, press star.”

Presses a number to select a digital control tag

“You have selected <tag description>.  To turn on, press 1. To turn off, press 0.  To cancel, press star.”

* Notes:

    Only analog status and digital status tags will be included. Do not be confused by the words “digital input” or “analog input” in the menu. 

    If a digital status tag does not have defined ON / OFF text, then the spoken state will always be “Normal” regardless of the tag value.
