To draw a line, select the line button in the configuration toolbox.

When the Line button is clicked, the arrow cursor will be replaced by a crosshair on the application page. This is a prompt for you to indicate where the start point of the line is to be drawn.
Step 1: Draw the line segment(s)
A line may include as many segments as you wish, but at a minimum it must have a start point and an end point to draw one segment. Indicate the position of each vertex on the page by left-clicking.
Step 2: Stop drawing the line:
The line tool will continue prompting for points until you right-click. Thus, to draw a single line, the procedure is to left-click at the start point of the line, move the cursor to the end point, left-click again, then right-click. To draw a multi-segment line, left-click at the start point and at each vertex until you reach the position where you wish to end the line. At that end point, right-click. No segment will be drawn to the location where you right-click.
Note: Drawing a line by doing a left-click followed immediately by a right-click will result in a line of zero length being drawn on the application page. This will not be visible, but it may interfere with attempts to select nearby objects later.
Step 3: Set the line style options
As soon as the line has been placed on the screen, the VTS Graphic Editor will be displayed. Simply selecting the box labeled "OK" will result in a line of default color, line style and line weight being created.
Please refer to Using the VTS Graphic Editor for instructions on using this dialog box.
