To draw a pipe, select the pipe button from the configuration toolbox.

Step 1: Indicate the start point of the pipe.
When the Pipe button is clicked, the arrow cursor will be replaced by a crosshair on the application page. This is a prompt for you to indicate where the start point of the pipe is to be drawn. A pipe object may include as many segments as you wish, but at a minimum it must have a start point and an end point to draw one segment. Indicate the position of each vertex on the screen by left-clicking.
Step 2: Stop drawing the pipe:
The pipe tool will continue prompting for points until you right-click. Thus, to draw a single pipe, the procedure is to left-click at the start point of the pipe, move the cursor to the end point and left-click again. then immediately right-click. To draw a multi-segment pipe, left-click at the start point and at each vertex until you have reached the position where you wish to end the pipe, then right-click to stop the pipe command. No segment will be drawn to the location where you right-click.
Note: Drawing a pipe by doing a left-click followed immediately by a right-click will result in a pipe of zero length being drawn on the application page. This will not be visible, but it may interfere with attempts to select nearby objects later.
Step 3: Set the pipe object’s style options
As soon as the pipe has been placed on the screen, the VTS Graphic Editor will be displayed as shown. Unless otherwise defined, pipes will be grey in color and have a width of 7 units.
Please refer to Using the VTS Graphic Editor for instructions on using this dialog box.
