Each parameter definition in a DM can be edited using the following dialog box:

You cannot change the name of the parameter – these follow an automatic naming convention of "Parm" followed by the number of the parameter.
What you can update includes:
Description: By default, this includes only the name of the original tag. You might also want to add the tag type or the purpose of the tag to this field.
Type: This is the type of the parameter, not the type of the tag. Your choices include:

A numeric data type that is a whole number 2 bytes in length. –32767 to 32767. |

A numeric data type that is a whole number 4 bytes in length. –2147483 to 2147483. |

A numeric data type that is a real number; that is, a number with a fractional value or decimal point (e.g. 327.983). |

Tag Type |
A tag, where the type can be one or more selections from the list to the right. Use the CTRL key when selecting multiple entries. |
Select tag Type This list is enabled only when the parameter type is set to "Tag Type". You may select one more entries from the list. When drawing the tag, only a tag from any of the selected types may be used for this parameter.
