Enable Users to Generate their Reports

The final element that is required on a custom reports page is a report button that can be clicked to generate a report based on the user's configuration of the reports page. The instructions below will guide you through the process of including a report button to your custom reports page.

1.   Click the "Libraries" button in the Configuration Toolbox.

2.   Click on the Drawing Tools node to open the list of libraries and tools.

3.   Select the "Report Button" node in the list and right-click to open its context menu.

4.   Click the "Draw" button.

5.   A sample report button is attached to the cursor. Left-click on the application page to place it.

6.   The VTS Graphic Editor opens to allow you to configure the button.

7.   Enter the text you wish to appear on the button object's label before it is clicked in the "State 0 Label" field.

8.   Enter the text you wish to appear on the button object's label after it is clicked, and while the report is being generated in the "State 1 Label" field.

9.   Click the "OK" button.

All elements are now in place to enable users to generate reports using your custom reports page; however, the layout of the page first requires some modification.

Once you have configured all the tools in the report tools library and have drawn them on your custom reports page, you should reposition and adjust the objects logically so that the reports page is easy for users to operate.
