Exporting Data Using the Historical Data Viewer Page

The Historical Data Viewer page allows you to export the data currently being viewed to a .CSV file or to an ODBC data source. The Export Wizard has been created to help you perform these data exports.

To export data:

1.   Use the Tag Selector to select and plot the tags whose data you wish to export.

2.   Adjust the HDV’s start date and time duration to display the data you wish to export

3.   Click the Export Wizard button.

The Export Wizard will open and display its welcome screen.

4.   Click the Next button.

The Export Format screen will be displayed.

5.   Select the format for your exported data from the drop-down list.

This can be one of 4 choices:

   Access Database

   Excel Spreadsheet

   CSV File (Comma Separated Values)

   ODBC Compliant Dat a Source

6.   Click the Next button.

7.   Accept the suggested file name and directory for the export file or create your own.

If you have chosen to export to an Access database file, you can use the Browse button to navigate to a directory where you wish to save the file and type the file name.  The Access database will be created with one table for each tag name.

If you have selected to export to an Excel spreadsheet file, you can use the Browse button to navigate to a directory where you wish to save the file and type the file name.  The Excel spreadsheet will be created with one sheet for each tag name.

If you have selected a CSV export, you can use the Browse button to navigate to a directory where you wish to save the exported data as a CSV file. (One new CSV file(s) will automatically be created per tag, with the tag name being used as the title for each file, appended with the .CSV extension.)

If you have selected an ODBC export, you can select an existing ODBC data source associated with an existing database or spreadsheet into which you wish the data exported

8.   Click the Next button
