Question: I've configured two different PCs as the Alarm Manager primary service server and the RPC Manager primary service server. I've noticed that Alarms are not triggering at the right time. This delay began as a constant time, but is drifting slowly towards longer and longer alarm trigger times. What is causing the drifting delay?
A: It could be that the clocks on your Alarm Manager server and the RPC Manager server are set differently. To remedy this issue, coordinate the clocks on both PCs so that they are set to the same time.
Question: I am experiencing a long speed delay when my application's alarm list is loading, and a long time delay between when an alarm has been triggered and when it is reported to my alarm page. What could be causing these speed and time delays?
A: Some anti-virus software may affect the speed at which the alarm data is displayed in the alarm list, and can cause extensive delays between the time that an alarm has been triggered and the time that the alarm is displayed on the Alarm page. If you have installed anti-virus software, it is recommended that you configure it in such a way that it does not scan files with the following extensions in your VTS installation directory or any of its subdirectories:
• *.LOG
• *.DAT
• *.DB
• *.MDB
