Question: I recently upgraded a client PC to VTS 6.51.05 (or later) from a version earlier than 6.51.05. Now I am experiencing security problems on the client as follows:
• When I logon to the client, all my security privileges are gone.
• I cannot access the "Configure" button in the Display Manager's title bar.
• When I click the Logon button (which is labeled with my username) my only options are "Logoff" and "Cancel".
A: Unfortunately, there is a security incompatibility between versions of VTS earlier than 6.51.05, and VTS 6.51.05 and later. Two versions of VTS on either side of this incompatibility might not understand each other properly.
To remedy this situation, either:
• Upgrade your server PC to VTS 6.51.05 or later, so that it is compatible with the client. or
• Connect to the server PC with a client running VTS 6.51.05 or earlier.
Note: It is recommended that you install the same version of VTS on all PCs running your remote application to avoid such incompatibility issues.
