Filtering the List of Tags by Tag Type

The Tag Browser's Types drop-down list enables you to filter the tag list to display tags of a specific type.

Note: The Types drop-down list works with the Search field and Areas drop-down list to filter the tag list. Be sure that each of these fields and drop-down lists are set correctly to ensure that you locate the tag(s) for which you are searching.

By default, when you first run a VTS application, the Types drop-down list is set to "All", indicating that all tag types should be displayed. You may select a tag type or a tag group by which to filter the tag list. Tag types are listed in alphabetical order in the Types drop-down list, followed by tag groups listed in alphabetical order (see Tag Groups for further information on tag groups).

In the example shown below, "Alarm Priority" has been selected in the Types drop-down list, and the tag list displays all the alarm priority tags for this application.

The Types drop-down list also determines the type of tag that will be generated when the New button is clicked. For example, if you wish to create a new analog input tag, you must first select "Analog Input" from the Types drop-down list.

Once you've finished searching for tags of a specific type, or belonging to a specific tag group, you should reset the Types drop-down list by selecting "All", indicating that all tags should be displayed.
