Forcing Synchronization

In the event that client workstations running a remote application experience serious configuration file corruption, VTS enables you to force clients to synchronize with the primary configuration server so that a new, uncorrupted copy of tags and files is propagated to the malfunctioning clients.

There are many means by which you can force synchronization  of clients with the primary configuration server:

Using the "Application Properties" dialog on the client workstation, you may synchronize that single client workstation's tags and/or files with the primary configuration server.

Using the "Application Properties" dialog on the primary configuration server, you may synchronize the tags and/or files of all client workstations with the primary configuration server.

Using the "Reset Remote Client" utility, you can remotely stop and restart an application on a remote client workstation.

The sections that follow provide step-by-step instructions for completing these procedures successfully.
