The preceding section provided detailed instructions for adding existing applications to the VAM (see Adding Existing Local Applications to the VAM). This section discusses the elements of the Found Applications dialog that opens when you choose to add an existing local application to the VAM by selecting the Find Existing option of the Add New Application dialog.

The Found Applications dialog consists of the following elements:
Path |
The Path field enables you to search for a specific application on the local workstation. To search for an application, enter the name of the application directory in the Path field. You may also enter the asterisk wildcard character (*) alone to search for all existing applications on the local workstation, or enter the first few characters of the application directory's name, followed by the asterisk wildcard character to locate an existing application (e.g. "MyAp*") |
Show Path |
When selected, the Show Path checkbox changes the display of the Name list to display the path for each application in the list, rather than the application's title. The path is generally the name of the application directory, relative to the VTS installation directory (e.g. "\MyApplication"). |
Name |
The Name column of the found applications list displays the titles of all applications that have been located according to the criteria you've entered in the Path field. If the Show Path checkbox is selected, the Name column displays the paths of all found applications (relative to the VTS installation directory), rather than the titles. |
Type |
The Type column of the found applications list displays the type of each application that VTS has found; either Standard Application (an application based directly on the core VTS layer), OEM Layer (an application based on a custom OEM layer that is in turn based directly on the core VTS layer), or Script Application (an application that is not based on the core VTS layer, and has been created using the VTS scripting language). |
OK
The OK button adds the selected application to the VAM's Available Applications list. Note: If you have selected the application layer for a layered application with an associated custom OEM layer, clicking the OK button will add both the selected application and the associated custom OEM layer to the VAM. |
Cancel |
The Cancel button aborts the operation. The selected application will not be added to the VAM's Available Applications list. |
