Interface to the Tag Properties Database

The Tag Browser and the tag properties folders work together to provide you with an interface to the tag properties database. You can use these tools to make online changes to the tag properties database without ever having to stop the application and edit the database manually (although you can do so if you require).

The Tag Browser enables you to obtain an overview of the contents of the tables of the tag properties database, enables you to filter the tables according to specific criteria, and provides a preview of the records within each table, while the tag properties folders enable you to examine each existing set of tag properties stored within the fields of a single record of a table in the tag properties database, and to configure new tags.

Using the convenient Tag Browser interface, you are able to filter data and scope into the tables of the database. Additionally, you can add, copy, delete, and modify tags, all while your application is running.

The Tag Browser's Types drop-down list displays a list of tags types that are available for your application. Each of these tag types is actually a table in the tag properties database. When you filter the Tag Browser to display tags of a specific type, you are actually opting to view the available records in a specific table of the tag properties database.

The table below demonstrates the correlation between the data displayed in the Tag Browser, and the data stored in the tag properties database.
