Modem Manager Display Tools

The Modem Manager can be configured to keep in memory a list of all recent modem activity or modem events. In addition, the Modem Manager can monitor statistics regarding information related to outgoing calls. These modem events and statistics can be displayed on your application pages using the drawing tools that exist for the Modem Manager. Below is an example of an operator interface that has been drawn using the 3 tools available to the Modem Manager.

In this example, the Event Log modem library tool has been utilized to display a list of events handled by the Modem Manager and stored in its memory; the Save Log modem library tool has been used to draw a Save Log button on the display that can be clicked to save the events in the event list to a log file named "Modem.log". (This function can be very useful when you are attempting to diagnose modem activity issues); and the Statistics modem library tool has been used to draw a display of statistics related to the Modem Manager's outgoing calls.

Note: The drawing tools available to display Modem Manager data can be accessed from a special library known as the Modem Tools library. Because all VTS libraries are accessed via the configuration toolbox, information on the Modem Tools library can be found in Modem Tools Library.

The sections that follow describe the data displayed by each of the tools available in the Modem Tools library.

Note: There are specific drawing methods available for the tags belonging to the modem tag type. These drawing methods are described in detail in Modem Tag Drawing Methods, while modem tags are themselves described in Modem Tag Type Properties.
