The Comm Channel section enables you to select a radio button indicating the communication channel and protocol to use for this Modicon driver. The default communications protocol is Serial RTU. This will be one of:
• Serial RTU When selected, the Serial RTU radio button indicates that you wish to use the RTU mode of the Modbus serial communications standard.
• Serial ASCII When selected, the Serial ASCII radio button indicates that you wish to use the ASCII mode of the Modbus serial communications standard.
• SA-85 (MB+) When selected, the SA-85 (MB+) radio button indicates that you wish to use the Modbus Plus communications protocol via a Modicon SA-85 card.
• Embedded TCP/IP When selected, the Embedded TCP/IP radio button indicates that you wish to use the Embedded TCP/IP protocol.
• Open Modbus TCP When selected, the Open Modbus TCP radio button indicates that you wish to use the Modicon Open Modbus/TCP specification to receive Modbus protocol over Ethernet TCP/IP.
Check this box to enable the squelching of background noise. By default, the Squelch Noise Present checkbox is not selected.
