The Mute Button tool is used to provide a button that can be clicked to silence all alarm sounds (current and future). No alarm sounds will occur while this button is toggled on.
Note: The Alarm Tools library also includes a Silence Button tool that enables you to silence the alarm sounds associated with the most recently triggered and unacknowledged alarm (see Silence Button).
The image below shows an example of the Mute Button Editor dialog as it appears when initially opened.

The result of the configuration is a button labeled, "Mute" that can be toggled on to silence all alarms sounds. When new alarms are triggered, no sound will be played to indicate their presence (however, all other alarm notifications will continue to operate). When the mouse pointer is paused over this button, a tool tip reading, "Mute alarm sounds" will be displayed.
Note: This button will be disabled if one or more filters have been applied to the alarm list, if you are not logged on to the application, or if you are viewing the History list.
