Selected content from your VTS application can be made available to mobile phones and PDA’s through a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) server.
Note: The ability to provide WAP content is a separate licensing option of VTS. If you did not purchase a license for the WAP module, it will not be available on your system.
Both VTS and VTScada include sample WAP modules. Both will display a list of active and unacknowledged alarms in an application. The VTScada version also has a module that displays the I/O tags linked to polled stations.
This chapter describes how to enable the WAP server for your VTS/VTScada installation and display the built-in applications. Creating custom WAP displays will require knowledge of the VTS programming language. Further information on this topic can be found in the Advanced Tasks chapter of the VTS Programmer’s Guide.
