Realms Database (Realms.db)

The Realms database, "Realms.db" can be found directly within the VTS installation directory on VTS Internet Servers (i.e. PCs running VTS that are licensed as VTS Internet Servers to enable clients to remotely view their applications via a web browser). Realms.db is an encrypted database file that contains two types of records:

Realms – User-defined groups of VTS applications that are protected and cannot be remotely viewed by VTS Internet Clients until they have been authenticated.

VTS Internet Servers – User-defined groups of VTS Internet Server PCs, whether they are local or remote, the port on which they should listen for data transmissions, and whether the port will accept unsecure connections, or if client authentication is required.

Because the Realms.db database file is encrypted, it cannot be manually edited. VTS provides a series of easily configurable dialogs that enable you to establish realms and assign VTS applications to them, and to create and maintain a list of VTS Internet Servers for your system. Information on VTS/IS, VTS Internet Servers, realms, and their creation can be found in Browsing VTS Applications on the Web.
