Remote Configuration

The Remote Configuration button (shown above) that appears in the configuration toolbox provides you with access to the Remote Configuration dialog (shown below).

(Alternatively, you can access the Remote Configuration dialog using the key that appears in the Display Manager's title bar just under the date and time display.)

The Remote Configuration dialog ensures that client workstations running a remote or networked application can make changes to the application's files, pages, and tags using the built-in VTS locking scheme. As you can see from the image above, the local workstation and its role in the application is identified in the upper left corner, the number and type of locks is identified in the Number of Locks display in the upper right corner, while details on the currently held locks is displayed in the Application Items list. Finally, a series of command buttons enable you to control the currently held locks.

Because Remote Configuration is a detailed subject which requires some background on networked applications and networking with VTS in general, detailed information on the Remote Configuration dialog can be found in Remote Configuration and the VTS Locking Scheme.
