The preceding section described how to add new files to your remote application. The Remote Configuration dialog also enables you to remove files that are no longer necessary to the running of you application. For example, if you added bitmaps to your application that are outdated and will no longer be used, you can remove the bitmap files using the Remove File button.
The Remove File button will be disabled when any files necessary to the functioning of a remote application are selected,. This is a safeguard against accidental deletion of critical files. Even so, it is not recommended that you remove any files unless you are absolutely sure that they are obsolete and will not be required by your remote application.
You have two options when removing a file using the Remote Configuration dialog:
• The file can be removed from the Application Items list, but can remain in the application directory for all workstations running the application; or
• The file can be removed both from the Application Items list, as well as from the application directory for all workstations running the application. This action is permanent.
Follow these steps to remove a file:
1. [If security is enabled] Logon to a user account that has been granted all system privileges.
2. Click the Configure button in the Display Manager's title bar.

The Remove File button becomes enabled if the selected resource item is not integral to the running of the application and VTS permits its removal.

5. Click the Remove File button. The dialog shown below opens.

6. Decide whether to remove the file itself in addition to its inclusion in the list.
• If you want to keep the file, Click the No button. The file will be removed from the Application Items list, but will not be deleted from the application directory.
