The VAM's Remove button is used to eliminate VTS applications from the VAM's Available Applications list. It can also, optionally, remove the application’s directory from the computer.
The following options are available using the Remove button:
• Remove the reference to the application from the VAM: You can remove the application from the VAM's Available Applications list while leaving its application directory. Doing so leaves you with the option to reinstate the application in the VAM at a later date.
• Permanently delete the application from disk: You can also remove the application from the VAM's Available Applications list and permanently delete its application directory. Doing so will result in VTS deleting all of the application's resources from your workstation. Deleting the application from disk is a permanent action that cannot be undone. Once the application's directory has been deleted, it cannot be recovered.
You should always use the Remove button rather than deleting application directories manually to ensure that application's resources do not get left behind.
To remove an application from the VAM's Available Applications list, follow the steps below. If you are removing both a layered application and the custom OEM that it is based on, you must remove the layered application first, then the custom OEM application second. Attempting to do this in the opposite order will result in a warning dialog, preventing you from proceeding.
1. Stop the application.
2. Select the application in the VAM's Available Applications list.
3. Click the VAM's Remove button.
The Remove Application dialog opens as shown.

4. Click the Yes button.
A second Remove Application dialog opens as shown.

5. If you wish to permanently remove the application directory from the disk, click the No button. Otherwise, if you wish to keep the application directory, click the Yes button.
The application will be removed from the VAM.
Note: Clicking the No button when prompted: “Keep the application's directory and all of its files?”, will result in a complete and irreversible deletion of the application's directory and its resource files. Use caution when removing applications from the VAM.
