Renaming an Application Directory

Under some circumstances, you might find it necessary to rename an application and the application's directory. As described in Changing an Application's Name, once you have configured an application with a name and a path (which indicates the application's directory name) in the New Application Properties dialog and have clicked the OK button, you may view, but not modify the path for the application in the Application Properties dialog.

If your application is a standard VTS application based on the VTS layer (Standard Application), or if your application is based on a custom OEM layer, you need only rename the application's directory and modify the GDI.wif file for the application. If however, your application is a custom OEM layer and other application layers are based upon this application, you must also alter the GDI.wif files for all related applications. The instructions provided in the following section will assist you in doing so.
