Reset a Remote Client

In order for you to reset a remote client, the remote application must be currently running on the client workstation; otherwise the client will not show up in the "Potential Clients" list. If the remote application is not currently running on the client workstation, you should use the start remote client operation (see Start a Remote Client).

To reset a remote client workstation:

1.   Select the remote application from the "Application Name" drop-down list. The primary configuration server will be identified in the "Primary Server" field to the right.

2.   Select the "Remote Configuration Client" radio button. The "Potential Clients" list will display all workstations that have the selected application installed.

3.   Select the name of the client workstation you wish to reset in the "Potential Clients" list.

4.   Click the "Reset Client" button. A message will open asking you to confirm that you wish to reset and start the application on the selected client.

5.   Click the "OK" button. The selected client stops running the remote application and will then restart it. This process will force the client to synchronize with the configuration server on the startup of the application. Once the client has restarted and resynchronized, the following message will appear.

6.   Click the "Close" button on the "Remote Message" dialog.

7.   Click the "Close" button on the "Reset Remote Client" dialog.

If you have selected a remote application but the client workstation does not appear in the "Potential Clients" list, this is an indication that the application is not currently running on the client workstation. In such a situation, you should start the application on the remote client to reset it. Instructions on starting a remote application on a remote client appear in the section that follows.
