Save Log Button

Createa a button that the operator may click in order to save the Modem Manager's internal log buffer to a file for later analysis.

This file may be viewed with the Event Log tool in the Modem Tools library.  See: Event Log Button for details.

The VTS Graphic Editor screen for the Save Log Button Editor dialog is as shown:

The result of the above configuration is a button labeled "Save Modem Events" that can be clicked to save the Modem Manager's event log to a file named, "Modem.log".

You can create your own custom label for the button with the Button Label field.  The file that the data will be saved to is set with the File field.  The default name of “modem.log” should be used in most cases.

VTS will save the modem log file in your application folder, but you may save it to a subdirectory of that folder by specifying the sub-folder name. For example: "\Modem Log Files\Modem.log".  Note that VTS will not create sub-folders automatically.  If you specify a sub-folder as the file location, it is up to you to create that folder before running your application.

Note: Information on the Modem Manager, and the data displayed in the Event Log list can be found in Modem Events List (Event Log).
