The Sort Button tool is used to provide a way that operators can sort the alarm list by alarm priority.
Note: Sorting is different from filtering. Sorting does not eliminate alarms from being displayed in the alarm list; rather, it changes the order of the items being displayed. Filtering excludes certain entries from being displayed in the alarms list. Both filtering and sorting may be applied to the alarm list simultaneously; for example, you may filter to display all alarms that have their Area parameter configured as "East", and sort the results by alarm priority.
The image below shows an example of the Sort Button Editor dialog.

Note: The History alarm list cannot be sorted, as it contains a mixture of security-related events, operator control actions, and alarms.

Removing a Sort
Removing sorting applied by a sort button can be completed by creating a second Sort Button Editor object. This button must have its Field Number drop-down list set to the same field as its corresponding sort button, and its Minimum and Maximum fields bust be left blank.
The image below displays a completed example of a Sort Button Editor dialog that will remove priority sorting when clicked.
