Standard applications are those that are ultimately based directly on the VTS layer (see Core VTS Layer), thereby inheriting the entire set of core VTS features and functionality.
There are different types of standard applications.
• Layered applications are those applications that are based on one or more custom OEM layers. VTScada applications are the most common example of these. See the topic: Layered Applications.
• Local applications are designed to run on a single workstation. See the topic: Local Applications.
• Remote applications have been designed to be deployed on multiple workstations. See the topic: Remote Applications.
• Note that both local and remote applications can also be layered applications.
