Stopping an Application Using the VAM
The VAM allows you to stop your applications at the click of a button. The Run/Stop toggle button automatically switches to its stop function for those applications that are running.
To stop an application:
1. Select the application you wish to stop running in the VAM's Available Applications list.
2. Click the Stop button.
Once the selected application has stopped, the Run/Stop button will again revert to the run function whenever the application is selected in the Available Applications list of the VAM.
Note: VTS automatically saves your work whenever you stop an application or exit VTS. Forcing an abrupt stop by shutting of the computer can cause problems since VTS would not then have a chance to write cached data to disk.
Stopping an Application Using the Windows Close Button
VTS applications may be configured to include a Windows title bar above the Display Manager's title bar (see Programmer’s Guide: DispMgrFullScreen configuration variable). The close button in the Windows title bar may be clicked to stop a VTS application from running, however, users must have the application close privilege granted to their user accounts in order to do so (see Application Close Privilege).
When a user whose security account has been granted the Application Close privilege clicks the Windows close button, a dialog similar to the one shown in the following image opens and requests confirmation of the operation.

Click on OK to stop the application or Cancel to allow it to continue running. While the dialog box is displayed, the application will continue running normally.
