Supplying Values to Parameters

When a DM that includes parameters is drawn on an application page, you will be given an opportunity to provide values for the parameters.

Note: You can access the same dialog at any time by double-clicking on a DM instance, or by right-clicking on the instance and choosing Properties from the context menu.

The values provided must be of the same type as the original parameter.  In the following example, a DM that includes 3 tags is being drawn on a page. The dialog looks like the following:

In this example, the name and description of each parameter is shown.  The space available for the description is limited, therefore you can also hover the cursor over any entry in the list to see a tool tip balloon that also displays the full name and description.

You may also choose to provide any object that provides a value equivalent to the original. For example, a numeric parameter can use any constant, tag or expression that evaluates to a number.  To select a different means of providing the tag's value, a menu is provided with each parameter as shown in the following image.

This menu will vary according the parameter's original type.

You can also use child tag structures to create more complex DMs. See: Using Parameters with Child Tags.
