Suppression of System Privileges

System privilege suppression enables you to hide any of the 37 system privileges (see System Privileges for details on system privileges) in all security-related dialogs. In so doing, you can prevent users from unintentionally granting these privileges to others. For example, you can suppress the Configure privilege so that managers can not grant it to themselves or to other users, thereby protecting the application from unauthorized configuration.

A suppressed privilege will not show when someone with the Manager privilege is granting rights to an individual user, but will be shown in red when a user with the Administrative privilege opens the Modify All dialog.

Note: Custom application privileges cannot be suppressed.

System privilege suppression and revelation is controlled using the Administrative Settings dialog (see Administrative Settings Dialog). Instructions on doing so can be found in Suppress or Reveal System Privileges.
