Once a tag has been saved, you cannot modify its name using the tag properties folder. In the event that you have named a tag incorrectly and it has been saved to the tag properties database, you can use one of two methods to remedy the situation:
Note: Both of these methods above will result in the permanent removal of any drawing methods you have employed for the incorrectly named tag. You will have to edit the page source files to use the new tag name.
• Stop the application, open the tag properties database, and change the name of the tag; or
• Copy the tag using the Tag Browser's Copy button, rename the copied tag, and then delete the incorrectly named tag.
The instructions provided below will assist you in renaming a tag using the second option. Open the Tag Browser.
1. Copy the incorrectly named tag. This will ensure that all configuration data for the tag will be saved so that you do not have to reconfigure all its properties.
2. Rename the copy correctly.
3. Click the OK button to save the copy to the tag properties database.
4. Select the incorrectly named tag.
5. Click the Delete button in the Tag Browser. The delete tag dialog opens as shown.

6. Click the OK button to delete the tag. The incorrectly named tag is deleted, while the copied, correctly named tag remains.
As mentioned, any drawing methods that were employed for the incorrectly named deleted tag will also be deleted. You will have to reconfigure the drawing methods for the tag within any page source file that used it.
